FAQs

What size FOB will fit my arrows?

 Please see the sizing page.

will fobs work with tapered arrows?

Yes, see the sizing page to check which size you will need for your particular arrow.

What type of arrow rest should I use with FOBs?

FOBs are not compatible with any style of whisker biscuit rest. Any adjustable drop away rest should work, but here are a few brands that we recommend:

  • Trophy Taker
  • QAD
  • Vapor Trail
  • TRUGLO
  • Apex Gear
Can i use a kisser button with fobS?

This will be dependent on where your kisser button is on the string and the string angle that your particular bow creates. The majority of archers who use kisser buttons will not have an issue. That said, a lot of archers who prefer a kisser button find that the FOB itself acts as a kisser button.

How much clearance should I have?

There should at least 1/16” of clearance between the FOB and your sight frame, arrow guide, arrow rest housing and launcher fork, bow riser, and cable guide. Please use the clearance tester provided and the instructions on the back of your package to check this.

I pass the clearance check, but I am still getting contact with my rest. What should I do?

First confirm that you’re getting contact on your rest by applying chalk, powder or lipstick to the outside of the FOB or to the outside of the vanes of a traditionally fletched arrow. Shoot this arrow and if it leaves a mark on the rest fork, you know that it is not timed correctly. It is common for cable driven rests to be improperly timed, which is why the use of a draw board to set up a cable driven dropaway is highly recommended!

How much do FOBs weigh?
  • Standard FOB – 24.1 ± 0.5 grains
  • X-Axis FOB – 23.0 ± 0.5 grains
  • H-Axis FOB – 24.0 ± 0.5 grains
  • Micro FOB – 24.5 ± 0.5 grains

*** Note these are the averages of each size of all the colors. Each color has a slightly different weight, but you should expect to only see at most a +/- 0.4 grain variance in any given pack.

My bow string is Contacting my FOB at full draw, what should I do?

Try one or more of the following:

  • Widen your d-loop by tying in nock points with BCY #3D string. If you do not have experience doing this, go see your local archery shop. Click here to see John Dudley teach you how to do this.
  • Purchase longer nocks. For example, Gold Tip nocks are longer than Easton nocks. Lighted nocks are also typically longer than non-lighted nocks. NOCK OUT and NAP Thunderglo lighted nocks in particular will get rid of 99% of string clearance issues.

If none of the things listed above get rid of the contact between the string and the FOB at full draw, your Axle-to-Axle and/or draw length are creating too aggressive of a string angle to use FOBs. For more information, contact us.

Can I use lighted nocks with FOBs?

Yes, all lighted nocks work with FOBs except Lumenocks. One thing to note when using the lighted nocks with FOBs is that they will pop off and stay with the FOB on a pass-through. So, lighted nocks will be pointless if you use them for the sole purpose of locating your arrow. However, reflective arrow wraps are a great alternative!

What is FOB’s refund policy?
