Fob Sizing
Chart Legend:
- Arrow ID
- Each arrow model (VICTORY RIP TKO for example) has a fixed inner diameter (ID) no matter what spine you order this refers to the inner diameter of your shaft. To determine this, remove your nock and use a set of calipers to measure the inner diameter.
- Arrow Nock Size
- This refers to the name of the nock size that your arrow uses. Most of the nocks nowadays have their letter marked on the nock itself.
- Max OD
- Each arrow model (VICTORY RIP TKO for example) has a fixed inner diameter (ID) no matter what spine you order. But the outer diameter (OD) changes depending on the spine. The Max OD spec tells you what the maximum outer diameter is that each FOB size can accomodate. So check the OD of your particular arrow spine to make sure that it will fit.
Steps To Choosing the Correct Size FOB:
- Determine what FOB size (Standard, H-Axis, X-axis, or Micro) your arrow falls under by either measuring its inner diameter of your shaft, or determining what nock size that your arrow uses.
- Measure the outer diameter (OD) of your arrow shaft and make sure that the measurement is less than the Max OD spec that the chart above shows for the FOB size your arrow falls under.
*** If you are unsure about what size arrow you have, please contact us or your arrow manufacturer or find your arrow manufacturer to determine ID, OD, and/or nock size.
Benefits to shooting FOBS
There are tons of benefits to FOBs, but here are the main one we hear about from our loyal customerbase:
1. Ease of install: If you do not enjoy fletching arrows and dealing with glue and jigs, all you have to do is Switch to FOBs. FOBs literally install in seconds and allow you to spend more time on perfecting you craft and not attempting to perfect your gear.
2. More aerodynamic: If you look at the photos below, you will see how the design of FOBs make them more aerodynamic. The design of FOBs makes them less resistant to crosswinds allowing for a more stable flight path.
3.The FOBs "pop off" feature allows you to have no interference with the pass through on an animal (can be a game changer when shooting through shoulder blades), and it give you a guaranteed marking for the placement of the shot.
4. Durability: With FOBs you will not have to worry about them getting bent in travel or while getting up a tree as they are made out of durable materials. And in the worst-case scenario, if a FOB does break just pop a new one on in a few seconds and get back to shooting.
